Need to Know: Auctions
- Auctions are held on the second Tuesday of every month at 11:00 am starting at the Evergreen Storage office. Auctions typically take about 30 minutes. Once a unit is sold to the highest bidder the storage unit contents legally belong to the winner. The identity of the bidder is confidential. If your unit is sold and you are interested in getting some of your belongings back, we will pass along your information to the bidder. The bidder is not required to contact you.
- Auction bidders are expected to return any important documents they find in the storage unit to the office. Items can be retrieved at our office during regular business hours. We are only required to store personal documents for 30 days.
- We are legally required to send you one pre-lien notice and one auction notice. It is your responsibility to update your mailing address, email, and phone number so we can contact you. We will attempt to call or email you multiple times before auctioning your unit. Please be aware that calling and/or emailing you is a courtesy and is not legally required of us.
- We do accept partial payments on your back balance. You are expected to make monthly payments. If you miss a monthly payment your unit may go to auction. Please be aware that California law dictates we are allowed to auction a storage unit if the total balance owed on the unit is not paid in full before the auction occurs. Don’t hesitate to contact us if you are having trouble making a payment.
